Permanent cessation of fisheries activities of fisheries vessel "Agi"

Fishing vessel (FV) "Agi" represents the own fishing fleet of the commercial company "Poli Fish" EOOD, with operational field of "CATCH OF FISH AND AQUACULTURE; SALE OF PRODUCTS OF ITS OWN CACHES". The vessel has an external marking Vn 4003, made of steel, and has a total overall length of 11.64 meters. The gross tonnage of the vessel amounts to 11.49 tons and its age is 35 years old considered by current year 2017. The main fishing gear with which the vessel is equipped is GNS gill nets-anchored - GO. The home place of the ship and its permanent registration is the port of Varna. FV Agi is an active fishing vessel that mainly target economically valuable fish species. With the implementation of this project, Poli Fish EOOD intends eliminate a less efficient vessel that generates high operating costs for fuel and maintenance. In addition, the company wishes to scrap FV Agi because the gear used, possess low selectivity and will contribute to reducing unwanted catches which lead to additional costs of unloading, storage and handling and subsequent treatment for Poli Fish EOOD. The elimination of FV Agi will allow to Poli Fish EOOD to start business in the sphere of trade with fish and fish products, due to the fact that each year Black Sea catches are decreasing, and for their catch are necessary higher and higher operational costs. All of the above mentioned reasons led to the decision of the company to apply for the scrapping of a FV Agi fishing vessel under Measure 1.3 "Permanent cessation of fishing activities". According to the requirements of the measure, Poli Fish EOOD will not register a new fishing vessel for 5 years after the date of receiving the grant.
