Permanent cessation of fisheries activities of fisheries vessel Nereida

Fishing vessel (FV) Nereida is owned by ET KIROV-MITKO KOSTADINOV, with the subject of "trade in industrial and food products and sale of own products". The vessel has an external mark AH227, made of wood and fiberglass, and has a total overall length of 9.6 meters. The gross tonnage of the ship is 4.5 tons and its age by 2017 is 11 years. The main fishing gear that the vessel is equipped with is GNS - Gillnets (anchored) - GO, while as an additional appliance, the vessel uses LHP - Flapper rig, manual fishing devices and other fishing rods- LO. The home of the ship and its permanent registration is the port of Ahtopol. FV Nereida is an active fishing vessel that hunts mainly economically valuable fish species. With the implementation of this project, ET KIROV-MITKO KOSTADINOV, intends to eliminate its fishing fleet, as the possession of only one small vessel is not effective.Boat ownership now generates high operating costs for home port, fuel, maintenance, while with each year has been increasing the administrative burdens and fees for fishermen representing small-scale coastal fishery. The main target species for fishing by the company is turbot, which is subject to a quota, whose receipt from year to year is becoming increasingly difficult for smaller obtaining quantities. In addition, the company wishes to scrap FV Nereida because the used fishing gear possess low selectivity, generating large quantities of unwanted catches, which lead to additional costs of unloading, storage and processing for ET KIROV - MITKO KOSTADINOV. All these reasons make the choice of the company to apply for the scrapping of the Nereida fishing vessel under Measure 1.3 "Permanen cessation of fisheries activities". According to the requirements of the measure, ET KIROV-MITKO KOSTADINOV will not register a new vessel for 5 years after the date of receiving the grant.
