Construction of a covered boat shelter in the aquatory to the north of Quarter 54, according to the plan of Kraimorie Quarter, Burgas Municipality.

The project aims at construction of a covered boat shelter in the residential district of Kraimorie in the city of Burgas, known for its long tradition of fishing and fish farming. The residential area is with permanent population of 851 people and there is a registered fishery Kraimorie association on its territory, which has 40 members. Such a hydro-technical facility serving as a temporary shelter of fishing vessels for the aquatory of the bay has not been built. The situational solution of the covered boat shelter is based on combining the following factors and functions: it is situated near settlements with active fishery communities - residential areas of Kraimorie, Chengene Skele and Pobeda; no coastal beaches are registered; possibility to build the facility in a pioneer way, only by coastal mechanisation; protected against storms, streams and entering of alluvium aquatory of the boat shelter; prevention of abrasion and landslide processes of the shoreline in the zone of the boat shelter; existence of the natural depth of the selected aquatory which excludes additional activities of dredging and negative effects on the underwater and benthic flora and fauna. Target groups are the population of the neighbourhood and the fishing communities from Kraimorie and the neighbouring settlements. The project capacity is for 54 boats of length: 9 to 12 m-10 berths; 6 to 9 m-16 berths; up to 6 m-28 berths. The covered boat shelter is located in the aquatory at the depth between 1 and 3 m, includes northern and southern enclosed malls, and a rear area with a serving building and a checkpoint. The implementation of the project will lead to the construction of small-scale infrastructure; improved working conditions for local fishermen, safety and improved conditions for development of non-industrial fishing in the region and preserved traditions in local fishing. The project activities envisaged include construction and building works, publicity measures, audit.
