"Clean sea - clean future"

The project proposal is aimed at protecting the environment and raising awareness in this direction are among the main priorities set in EU policy. Among the specific environmental challenges facing the EU and in particular the Republic of Bulgaria, the main place is occupied by water pollution with slow-decomposing waste - mainly plastic. The coastline and waters of the Black Sea report an increased level of pollution, and an additional major threat to marine biodiversity is lost or abandoned fishing gear. In this regard, any activity aimed at supporting the viability and balance of the marine environment by removing polluting waste and lost fishing gear is of paramount importance for the fisheries sector and the development of the local community. This PP is aimed at improving the state of the marine environment in the waters of the FLAG Shabla-Kavarna-Balchik, through the collection of waste and lost fishing gear and provides training, information campaigns and awareness raising campaigns on the subject among the fishing community and coastal population. It is envisaged that the cleaning places will be around the village of Tyulenovo, the village of Krapesh and the Shabla lighthouse and other places, if necessary, with the presence of pollution. The successful implementation of such a project has the potential to direct and accumulate additional public energy, thus achieving a lasting effect on the environment and the formation of environmental awareness of the local community. The PP envisages the partnership with FLAG VShabla-Kavarna-Balchik, which will favor the coverage of all stakeholders from the local community.
