Improving the marine environment in the Nessebar Bay waters

The aim of the Project is to reduce the amount and impact of solid waste in the waters of Nessebar Bay, and improve the marine environment in the municipality of Nessebar. The project activities are expected to raise awareness among local businesses in the fisheries sector and the population of the municipality of Nessebar about the state of the sea and the opportunities and mechanisms to reduce the negative impact of fisheries on the marine environment. “For a clean marine environment”-an information and motivational campaign will be conducted and an Analysis of the degree of solid waste pollution in the waters of the Nessebar Bay will be drafted. The conduct of two Ecological trainings will increase the capacity of local fishing communities, port agents, non-governmental fisheries and environmental organizations, and local business organizations in the fisheries sector to combat pollution and overcome its negative consequences. Four Ecological trainings for children and students from the municipality of Nessebar will increase their ecological education for protection of the marine environment. We plan to hold several creative initiatives "Me and my sea" with children and students from the municipality of Nessebar on environmental issues. The project includes large-scale cleaning of solid waste from the coastal part of the sea in the Nessebar municipality area, which aims to reduce solid waste pollution in a significant maritime area, and involve the target groups of the project in the protection of the marine environment. We will prepare and disseminate information and advertising materials on each of the project activities. The publication and distribution of the Manual “The “Improvement of the marine environment in the Nessebar Bay waters” Project-a new approach to preserving the cleanliness of the Black Sea” will promote the results of the project, which have a sustainable effect and opportunities for multiplication in other areas of the Black Sea basin.
