Provision of environmental services by the fishery enterprise ERIM FISH JSC

Erim Fish AD is a company, a small enterprise, founded in 2014, registered under the Commercial Law, with the main subject of activity: Production and trade with fish, aquaculture products, fry and caviar. The company owns a full-scale fish farm in the village of Yoakim Gruevo, Stamboliyski Municipality, where it currently produces fishery material for sturgeon and trout species, and grows rainbow trout to a consumable size. In addition, the company owns flock of sturgeon of different age structure (between 5 and 7 years old), which are farmed for the purpose of producing black caviar. The site has a total area of 20.7 acres. The outdoor part of the farm has 20 concrete pools with a total area of 2 100 m2. The farm has 3 pcs. excavation basins intended for the intensive rearing of sturgeon species. The excavation fish pools are approximately the same in area (about 3300 m2 each), with a total area of about 10,000 m2. Currently, the company is completing a project to increase cultivation capacity, installing 31 inox pools and an additional 4 rectangular-shaped steel and fish tanks for each of 194 m2. The farmed fish in the industry and fattening basins of the site feed on specialized, high-protein granulated feed mixtures for high growth. With this project, the company wants to claim annual compensation for the production losses suffered by fish-eating birds of the species Big and small Cormorant, as well as Gray Heron. The main losses occur during the autumn and winter half year, as a result of the attacks by fish-eating birds , significant quantities of juvenile trout are discarded, and very often larger fish that cannot be swallowed are injured and subsequently die from the attacks of the birds. The amount of compensation claimed has been calculated according to the aqua-environmental plan attached to this project.
