Development of a Fish farm for cultivating fish in floating net cells – lake Zornitca

The investment proposal is prepared in regards to the “Development of a Fish farm for cultivating fish in Cage System” within the aqua territory of lake Zornitca, the Territory of Zornitca village, the Municipality of Sredetc, the region of the city of Bourgas. The water area of the lake Zornitca is located on a Lot with N0 000429, ID - 31379 with a total area of 246 acres. It has the potential for development of a net cell installation for cultivating fish types that have a good market value such as European catfish (Siluris glanis) and White fish (Sander lucioperka). The technological project and some advanced research of the ecosystem of the lake Zornitca suggest development of a new fish farm that is designed for all stages of fish cultivating with production capacity of 250-300 tons of European Catfish and White Fish. Simultaneously, there will be harvesting activities in the free lake zone for fish types such as common carp ( Ciprinus carpio), silver carp (Hypophthalmichthys molitrix) and grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella) - will use extensive and semi-intensive technology and will reach approximately 50-70 tons of fish per year. Main Activity: “Development and putting into service of a modern Cage System installation” that is the main fish cultivating system for fish types with a very well established market value such as European catfish (Siluris glanis) and White fish (Sander lucioperka). Additional Activities: -Investment in production of a reproductive fish material aiming to cultivate harvesting material with consideration to the market requirements for diversification of fish production. -Construction activities for achieving a safe production environment of the fish farm in regards to the requirements for safety and wholesome working conditions. -Efficient use of the water resources of the lake Zornitca towards protecting the indicators for ecological sustainability and the opportunity for multicultural cultivation of the aquacultures.
