Rehabilitation and modernization of existing fishponds and hatchery of the type full-system processing system, mainly producing trout species of Balkan trout (Salmo trutta fario).

The project proposal provides for the modernization and optimization of existing fishponds and fish hatcheries of the full system flow system type for production mainly of Balkan trout species (Salmo trutta fario) in a type full-system processing system. The location of the performance of the investment proposal is Gorno Uyno, Kyustendil Municipality. The building and the adjoining infrastructure are operated by "Bulgarian Fish Farms" Ltd. under a rent contract for a period of 10 years. Its implementation activities include: major repairs to the existing technical and material facilities in order to improve the farm's technical and economic performance and to increase its resource and environmental efficiency. The total area of the holding is about 9,000 m2, of which about 3,000 m2 are needed for installing the equipment, organizing the process of the hatchery production process and for delivering the planned capacity. The investment is aimed at growing species with very good market potential, namely Balkan trout, with a planned annual capacity of up to 80 tons. The production process, according to cultivation technology, goes through three phases: 1.Reproduction-production process-breeding, production of fry up to 10 grams and growing of a uterine herd. 2. Growing of adolescents from 10 to 60 g. 3. Fattening from 60 to 350 g. The technology program provides for a gradual loading of capacities to achieve the optimum conditions for growing the product. The project envisages preservation of existing jobs the creation of 6 new working places, as well as activities to improve safety and working conditions, by purchasing personal protective equipment and special work clothes, expanding scope to the BS OHSAS 18001: 2007 standard, equipment for recreation, eating and resting places for employees, training of employees for safe work with newly introduced equipment, as well as measures for improving the energy and resource efficiency of the enterprise.
