Preparation of strategy of FLAG "Primorsko - Sozopol - Tsarevo" 2014 - 2020

Association „Fisheries Local Action Group Primorsko - Sozopol – Tsarevo“ (FLAG) was created in late 2010 as a public-private partnership with the participation of municipalities of Sozopol, Primorsko, Tsarevo and local natural persons and legal entities from the business and non-profit sector. FLAG was created during the previous programming period to unite the efforts of all local interested parties and to take action about the problems accumulated over the years and negative trends in the local fisheries sector. During the last programming period 2007 – 2013 FLAG "Primorsko - Sozopol - Tsarevo" has successfully implemented "Strategy for Development of FLAG Primorsko - Sozopol - Tsarevo for the period 2011 - 2013". The project was implemented under contract № 60 / 30.03.2012 for granting financial assistance to local development strategy under Operational programme for development of fisheries sector /2007-2013/ of Republic of Bulgaria, funded by the European Fisheries Fund of a total value of 7 021 136.33 BGN. Thanks to the efforts of the association members and the team of FLAG the implementation of the project was successful in this peripheral region of the country. The high rate of fulfilling the Strategy and paid funds, and the huge interest in the measures are proof of serious and responsible work and confidence /the webpage of FLAG "Primorsko-Sozopol-Tsarevo" has over 48,000 visits/. Whit the end of the period, it can be confirmed that the established partnership between the administration, NGOs, businesses and citizens of the three municipalities operate successfully and contributes to sustainable development. and improving the quality of life in the fishing area. Due to the above, and by virtue of Decision of the General Assembly and decisions of the Municipal Councils of the municipalities of Sozopol, Primorsko and Tsarevo, FLAG will be a candidate in the programming period 2014 - 2020 and specifically in the current procedure.
