Ecological and sustainable fisheries area - promoting, studying and protecting the heritage of the local community in the municipalities of Aksakovo, Beloslav and Varna

The project is the study and presentation of data on the history, ecology, biodiversity, natural and cultural-historical heritage of the coastal zones in the territory of the FLAG Varna, Asparuhovo - Beloslav - Aksakovo (including Varna and Beloslav Lake). The project envisages the creation of an online platform to represent, in a three-dimensional model, the outlines and shapes of the coast and adjacent shelf, combined with data on biodiversity, ecology, currents, water and air indicators, protected areas and NATURA 2000 sites, prohibited fishing zones, historical data and more. The envisaged activities of the project are: Conducting of combined laser and hydrographic survey of the coast and the adjacent underwater terrain on the territory of the FLAG; Creating a 3D model of the described area; Creation of an online platform for presenting the collected data and the created models of the coastal zone and shelf; Presentation through the online platform of data, research, literature, visual and audio files on the history, ecology, biodiversity, natural, marine and cultural and historical heritage of the waters and the territories of the municipalities: Aksakovo, Beloslav, Varna; Description and presentation of marine and lake flora and fauna; Presentation of fisheries associations on the territory of the FLAG, etc. The project is also focused on enhancing knowledge and effectiveness in environmental and maritime conservation and resource use, in line with current requirements of the EU Integrated Maritime Policy and the EU Marine Strategy, as well as complementing the knowledge of adolescents for the local community and the sea. The project is in line with the objectives of the Europe 2020 strategy for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth. The project is linked to the thematic objectives of the EMFF and the Union's priorities in accordance with Art.6 of Reg.(EU) No508/2014, as well as to the priorities set out in the MFF, FLAG and the EU Horizontal Policies.
