Restoration and development of maritime affairs, natural and maritime cultural heritage by promoting and disseminating knowledge and skills for sailing and environmental protection in Shabla Municipality and the Fisheries Community

Shabla Municipality falls within a territory with rich natural and anthropogenic resources on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast - sea and mineral waters, healing mud, vast beaches, mild and healing climate, favorable geographical location and good transport infrastructure. The symbol of Shabla is the Lighthouse, located in fishing village Karia, which is the oldest and tallest navigation facility on our Black Sea coast. The availability of excellent conditions for the development of marine sports is a prerequisite for the promotion of water sports in combination with the rich natural and marine cultural heritage. The main problems facing the development of sea sports are the lack of funds, the need for modern facilities and equipment, lack of qualified personnel, low interest among adolescents, lack of various sports activities. With this project the NGO aims to contribute to already implemented ideas of Shabla Municipality in promoting the natural and marine cultural heritage of the region through: -Organizing sailing training seminars for beginners; -Training of sailing instructors, aiming to reach a level where the newly trained instructors will lead initial sailing classes and preparation of competitors for participation in sailing regattas on the northern Black Sea coast; -Organizing an event at the Green Training Center in Shabla, where everyone will provide photos and will have the opportunity to share their story. The collected materials will be used to position a permanent photo exhibition reflecting maritime history and heritage; -Organization of meetings / joint activities / talks on sailing with MK Balchik with a view to future cooperation, exchange of experience regarding the specific features of sailing and organization of joint competitions. All activities and initiatives aim at promoting and preserving the maritime affair, as well as the maritime cultural tangible and intangible heritage of the territory.
