Protecting and promoting the identity of the Chengene skele fishing village

The project proposal aims at developing and promoting the territorial uniqueness of the fishing village Chengene Scele and its transformation into a year-round tourist destination with a distinctive appearance and preserved intangible cultural heritage, traditions and nature. The planned activities of the project include the preparation of a study for the conservation and promotion of the intangible cultural heritage related to fisheries in the Bay of Burgas;development of interpretation programs and trainings of animators for their implementation; investments related to the construction of ethnographic complex, development of a concept design and emplacement of ethnographic exposition, promotion activities. The project proposal addresses three main aspects of deficit-related needs in terms of the development of tourist attractions, including intangible cultural heritage, lack of trained staff to implement competitive, tourism policies, tourism seasonality.The Community-led Local Development Strategy indicates that alternative forms of tourism and tourism infrastructure are poorly developed within the FLAG Burgas-Kameno. The implementation of the project proposal will preserve and promote the intangible cultural heritage related to fisheries in the Bay of Burgas;improve the tourist image of the region by creating a new tourism product with the potential to overcome the seasonality of the FLAG Burgas-Kameno; knowledge of traditional crafts, authentic customs and folklore related to fisheries will be enhanced; promotes environmentally friendly use and conservation of environmental resources. The Implementation of the project proposal will create prerequisites for the development of local business, trade and the provision of all kinds of services in the FLAG.Target groups are:foreign and Bulgarian tourists and guests ; children, young people and adults from Burgas region; local population with high representation of the local fisheries community tour operators.
