Search for new markets, opportunities for development and encouragement of fishing in Bulgaria

The project proposal falls within the scope of criteria 1 "Activities for the development of new markets" in the Fisheries sector and is geared towards searching for new markets. Fisheries is a traditional sector for our country in the years to come, it has provided an alternative and has secured employment for many cadres. The fisheries sector is an important part of the country's economy and this sector covers activities related to the production, processing and marketing of fishery and aquaculture products. Bulgarian fishery production is characterized by high quality of production, which allows it to be offered in foreign markets. With the implementation of the project a market research will be carried out in order to find new market niches for expanding the sale of fishery and aquaculture products produced by Bulgarian producers. The study will be subject to in-depth research, and experts will collect and summarize information for 5 months. In this way a working mechanism will be created allowing the search of market positions for the Bulgarian fishery and fishery producers on the Bulgarian as well as on the foreign market. For this purpose, visits will be organized in EU Member States and third countries for the purposes of market research for mission expenses. Additionally, commercial consultations and other services will be held, targeting wholesalers and retailers in the sector. Through its long-standing experience in dealing with small and medium-sized enterprises, BASME has proved to be an organization with financial and technical capacity. The Association has a qualified team of experts with extensive experience that will ensure the implementation of the project activities and the achievement of results aimed at providing permanent support to the producers of the Fisheries sector in Bulgaria.
