Modernization of the processing plant for fish and fish waste (African Catfish)

The company ELMET EOOD, VAT reg. № 112030073, was established in 1998 in the town of Panaguyrishte with headquarter at 15 Shipka street. Since 2012 the Company has started a Recirculation Aquaculture Facility for growing African Catfish with a capacity of more than 300 tons of live fish per year. In 2013 a Processing facility was open next to the Farm for processing the grown African Catfish. The Company offers its customers chilled products in the form of : - Chilled fillets of African Catfish; - Chilled steaks of African Catfish; - Chilled whole, gutted African Catfish; In order to fully utilize the offals from the fish processing, as well as expanding the product range to the market, the Company had decided to invest into an expansion of the processing facility. In the new facility, the Company will set a Fish Meal Machine for processing 100% of the fish offals to skim fishmeal that is used as a raw material in different animal feeds. Along with the waste utilization, the Company intends to put in operation machines and installations for hot and cold smoked products from African Catfish, waft and marinating. With this investment, the Company plans not only to increase the range of products from African Catfish to the market but also full utilization of the production leftovers. The investment will enable the Company to hire 6 new people.
