Processing plant for algal biomass and production of food additives, located in the region of Pazardzhik, municipality of Strelcha, Svoboda

The company Algae Pharm AD has the subject of activity production and trade of organic and natural products manufactured using evironmentally friendly methods of producing aquaculture. With its incorporation the company board of directors decided to build a plant for production and processing of algal biomass. As a result of done market research and consulting with professors from the Institute of Plant Physiology and Genetics Academy of Sciences, started the project preparation. BAS scientists developed the techhology and provided technical parameters. After the successful negotiations with the leadership of municipality of Strelcha the company purchased municipal property, where they will build a plant for production and processing of biomass of chlorella and spirulina. The object of the current project is the processing of algal biomass - chlorella and spirulina - and food supplements whose grant will launch a new, promising, environmentally friendly production, providing an annual output of nearly four tons dry mass chlorella and nearly two tons dry mass of spirulina, which will be distributed on the market in the form of bottles of capsules. The rich composition of biologically active substances makes the two types of algae valuable dietary supplement.
