Stage I of the project for realization of Line 3, includes underground section in the centre from station 5 (situated at the crossroad of Vladimir Vazov Blvd. and Panayot Hitov str.) to station 14 (located under Zhitnitsa str. near the crossroad with Bul. Tsar Boris III), with 7.8 km length, 8 metro stations, depot and supply of the necessary rolling stock – 20 metro trains. With the implementation of current project proposal – Stage I „Vladimir Vazov Blvd. - Centre – Zhitnitsa str." from Line 3, significant part from Line 3 set in the General master plan (GMP) will be completed in the Northeast-Southwest direction, which will be linked to the other two metro lines in the centre. The value of the investments needed for the construction of Stage I of Line 3 from the Sofia metro extension project is estimated at EUR 433 mill (VAT excl.), based on the achieved tender price for the other metro sections (Constructed under OP “Transport” 2007-2013).
