Modernization and optimization of the maintenance activities in the common BG-RO section of the Danube River through delivery of equipment

The project will update the technical base of the Agency for implementation of dredging activities on the fairway. The newly delivered equipment, which will include a cutter-suction dredger, floating pipeline for transportation of the dredged material, a pontoon, a non self-propelled barge, a maneuvering ship, will increase the capacity of excavation dredging several times. This will allow a larger amount of dredging to be carried out in shorter periods of time. This will also increase the effect of timely dredging for faster activation of the river's ability to wash away, for longer-lasting retention of the required depths at medium and lower water levels. The dredging activities specified in the technological plan in a particular critical area will be implemented in a shorter time. No dredging activities are foreseen within the scope of the project.
