PROJECT FOR DESIGN, DELIVERY, INSTALLATION AND INTRODUCTION OF AUTOMATIC VERTICAL PLATFORM SCREEN DOORS (PSD) FOR 12 STATIONS OF LINE 1 AND LINE 2 OF SOFIA METRO

This project is for the design, delivery, installation and introduction of Automatic Platform Screen Doors (PSD) that opens vertically and of a wide opening for 12 metro stations from Line 1 and Line 2 of the Sofia Metro. The implementation of the project, including the installation of all hardware, cables, materials and equipment at 12 metro stations from Line 1 and Line 2 of Sofia Metro will provide a physical barrier of the pedestrian area of the platforms from the area where the trains operate. The metro stations that are planned are as follows: Line 1: - Slivnitsa - Lyulin - Zapaden Park - Vardar - Konstantin Velichkov - Opalchenska - Serdica - Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" - Vasil Levski Stadium - G. M. Dimitrov Line 2: - Serdica 2 - National Palace of Culture (NDK) Automatic Platform Screen Doors will be 85 meters in length, corresponding to the length of the area of train stop at the stations’ platforms, with the rest of the platforms closed by railings. The height of the Automatic Platform Doors will be 170 cm as measured from the platform level. Implementation of the project will completely prevent the incidents resulting from the passengers falling onto the railway or deliberate entering it at the specific metro stations and the adjacent tunnels. The location of the designated 12 metro stations from Line 1 and Line 2 of the Sofia subway is presented on Map 3 in Item 2.2. of Section II Project Description of Appendix 4 to the Application Form. The project is in implementation from 1.10.2020.
