Road safety is one of the priorities of the EU. In 2017, EU Ministers of Transport have given a momentum to road safety policiy both at EU and national level. As a result, an strategic EU framework is currently being drafted to outline road safety priorities for the period 2020 - 2030. Improving the level of road safety by developing new methodologies for analysis of drivers' psychological fitness is related to the implementation of a long-term policy aimed at reducing the number and consequences of road accidents and is in line with the MTITC' Strategy for improving the road safety of the Republic of Bulgaria for the period 2011-2020. Through the new methodologies for psychological fitness testing of the drivers, we will be able to identify potentially dangerous behavior on the road and the risk of admitting crashes, which will lead to a reduction in the number of dead and injured people as a result of crashes. As a result the project will provide information on the transport sector and related socio-economic indicators, in volume and quality, needed to develop and make operational and strategic decisions, in particular in road safety. The project is in line with the general objective of OPTTI - "Development of a sustainable transport system" and by improving the safety and security of the citizens will contribute to its achievement.
