Development and implementation of methods for water, sediment and biota analysis, and equipping the laboratories of the Executive Environment Agency.

In response to the recommendations of the European Commission (EC) when revising the First plans for management of the river pools (FMRP) and in accordance to the requirements of the National and European legislation regarding the water policies the number of mandatory for monitoring priority and specific pollutants is increased and new matrices for observation are introduced. This imposes the development and introduction of additional methods of analysis and the purchase of the necessary precise analytical equipment. The retrofit of the laboratories in the Executive Environmental Agency with basic and auxiliary equipment for sampling, sample preparation and sample preservation will insure higher reliability and comparability of the data and it will answer the requirements of the Water Framework Directive WFD 2000/60/EU, it will also insure the execution of the Plans for management of the river pools 2016-2021 and the Transnational Monitoring Network in the frame of the Convention on the conservation of the Danube and its tributaries.
