Construction of WSS infrastructure for consolidated area, served by WSS operator Silistra

The project involves implementation of integrated investment measures on the consolidated area, served by water operator “WSS” LTD, Silistra. The investments shall be aimed at the achievement of compliance with Directive 91/271/EEC for agglomeration above 10 000 PE, namely agglomeration Silistra. The proposed investments are aimed to increase the efficiency of water use, reduce of water losses in the water system and fulfillment of obligation under the Directive 98/83/EC concerning the quality of water intended for human consumption for both settlements with population above 10,000 - Silistra and Tutrakan. The planned investment measures are in compliance with Regional Master Plan and are part of the developed Regional Feasibility Study. For solving the problems under the water supply component will be invested in the reconstruction of the incoming water mains with a total length of 17,381 km, to Silistra (8,044 km) and Tutrakan (9,337 km), replacement of pumping units, reconstruction and rehabilitation of internal water supply networks with total length 37,720 km or as follows: for aggl. Silistra (total 34,896km) - Silistra (8,397km), Kalipetrovo (16,186km) and Aidemir (10,313km) and for aggl. Tutrakan (2,824km) - Tutrakan (2,824km), total replacement for 2,043 serves connections. Under component “waste water collection and disposal” will be invested in construction of sewerage networks in agglomeration Silistra in order to achieve compliance with environment regulation. The total of 45 101 m. sewerage networks will be constructed, along with 2 171 building detours. One waste-water pump station will be constructed and another one will be reconstructed. In order to increase the water system management efficiency, a geographic information system is to be designed and build.
