RBMP 2022-2027

Development of River Basin Management Plans (RBMPs) for the period 2022-2027 involves carrying out studies, assessments, analysis and development of documents such as methodologies, approaches and criteria to meet the requirements of national and EU legislation, filling gaps and complying with EC recommendations made in the assessment of the first and second RBMPs, incl.: Updating characteristics of surface and groundwater bodies and protected areas; Economic analysis of water uses; Updating assessment of pressure, impact and risk on water bodies and and protected areas; Assessing the status of water bodies and and protected areas, including assessment of the effect of measures implemented, designing monitoring networks and programs, setting objectives and exemptions; Assessing the impact of climate change, including on ecosystems and protected areas; environmental objectives, exemptions from achieving them and programs of measures; Updating the catalogue of measures and estimating the costs of new measures; Updating the programs of measures, economic analysis of their effectiveness and development of national programs for their implementation; Elaborating methodologies, approaches and supporting means for the development of RBMPs and water management, including models; Developing draft RBMPs; Carrying out Environmental Assessment (EA) of the draft RBMPs 2022-2027; Transboundary coordination with neighbouring countries for RBMPs development; Consultations with stakeholders and the general public at each stage of RBMPs development (timetable and work program for the development of RBMPs; interim overview of the significant water management issues and a draft of the RBMPs) and during the EA procedure; Amendments to reflect proposals or justification for non-acceptance of proposals resulting from consultations carried out and preparation of RBMPs for adoption by the Council of Ministers.
