"Construction of installation for pre-treatment and composting, within the Regional system of waste management in Region Oryahovo"

In connection with the set national and European targets for reduction of the deposited waste and for the recycling and utilization of specific waste streams, the municipalities of RWMA - Oryahovo, based on information from preliminary analyzes and studies for the needs in achieving the objectives under art. 31, para. 1, item 1 and 2 of the WMA provide for the provision of investments for the construction of an additional waste treatment infrastructure, as follows: - Establishment of a pre-treatment plant for the treatment of domestic waste for the purpose of its recovery with a capacity of 15,300 tonnes (Objective: preparation for recycling and waste disposal and provision of a maximum of 50% of the input stream of the waste) - Construction of 2 composting plants for separate collected green and biodegradable waste: * Installation in General. Kozloduy, with a capacity of 4 400 t, For the needs of the Municipality; * Installation in General. Oryahovo for the needs of the other municipalities of RWMA - Oryahovo with a capacity of 4 500 t. (Objective: use of bio-waste for each municipality) The introduction of the installations subject to the project proposal will help to achieve the objectives of the WMA: 1. By 31 December 2020, the limitation of the amount of landfilled biodegradable municipal waste to 35% of the total waste generated in the DB in 1995 in accordance with the requirements of the European Landfill Directive 2. Recycling at least 50% of household waste and creating conditions for protection and improvement of the environment in the regions. The installations on the territory of Oryahovo are located in property № 385, municipal property in the "Markov Bair" town of Oryahovo The composting installation in the Kozloduy will be located in town of Kozloduy. After the realization of the project will be reduced the quantity of input material of the constructed Regional Depot for Non-hazardous Waste, Markov Bair.
