This project proposal aims to design and build a composting installation and installation of pre-treatment of mixed waste, which will be located on a site within the administrative boundaries of the Municipality of Sandanski and will serve all municipalities in the Regional Association for Waste Management - Sandanski - Municipalities of Sandanski, Kresna, Strumyani. The expected result of the implementation of project measures is to reduce the amount of landfilled waste by providing additional capacity for pre-treatment of mixed waste and for separate collection and recycling through composting of green and biodegradable waste. The implementation of the project activities will contribute to the achievement of the national targets laid down in national legislation and in the National Plan for Waste Management 2014-2020, to the limit of the amount of biodegradable waste to 35% The total amount of waste generated by 1995 and to increase - to the end of 2020, the proportion of recycled waste to be less than 50% of generated household waste. The construction of the composting installation and the pre-treatment of household waste, which will serve the municipalities of RAWM - Sandanski, will contribute to compliance with the waste management hierarchy in the region, according to European and national legislation: - preventing their formation; - preparation for reuse; - recycling; - other recovery, for example, recovery for power generation; - disposing. Project implementation period of 36 months - of which 31months to implement project activities, and 5 months for final reporting and verification. The indicative planned date for concluding an administrative grant contract is November 1, 2017 and we plan the month of November 2017 to be the first month of the project implementation.
