"Construction of a municipal composting installation for separately collected biodegradable and green waste to municipality of Harmanli"

The current project proposal has been developed in relation with grant procedure BG16M10P002-2.005. Taking into consideration the requirements of the application guidelines, Harmanli Municipality commissioned the development of a complete set of application documents, which aimed at the investigation and analysis of the applied waste management system on the territory of Harmanli Municipality. During the research and analysis period, it was established that the existing situation requires and allows the Harmanli municipality to prepare a project proposal with which to apply for financing by the Managing Authority of the Operational Programme "Environment 2014-2020". In the process of preparation of the proposal and making of the concept of investment project, the framework and scope of the investment project was established and the main components included in it are: - Design of a composting installation in outdoor lines without forced aeration with a capacity of 2 690 t/year; - construction works for the construction of the installation and equipment supply for the same; - Delivery of equipment for separate collection of green and biodegradable waste; - Accompanying activities such as construction and author supervision, management and information and communication of the project. In the process of development of preliminary (pre-investment) surveys it was found that the most suitable place for realization of the investment is in the territory of the existing SWM - Harmanli. In this way, it will contribute to avoiding implementation of activities and construction works related to the construction of a new infrastructure, and only the construction of additional technical infrastructure on the landfill will be necessary. The implementation of the project will contribute to improving the results of the National Waste Management Plan 2014-2020 and achieving the WMA requirements.
