The main objective of the project is the prevention of household waste generation, preparation for reuse or recycling and raising awareness about waste management hierarchy through citizen participation in separate collection and reuse of books. The implementation of the "Green Knowledge" Initiative will create conditions for the separate collection of used books and their disposal at certain bookstores, where they will be sorted and handed over for reuse or recycling. The project will demonstrate a model for the separate collection of used books and reuse through donations to libraries, schools, social institutions and community centers, thereby preventing the generation of domestic waste. The implementation of the separate collection and recycling model for the recycling of non-reusable books, in the form of a old belongings collection campaign, will help reduce household waste generation and encourage repair and repair activities to extend life of old books. The implementation of the project will promote a change of public awareness for the achievement of a zero-waste society, recognition and understanding of the problems and risks associated with domestic waste, and the establishment in the society of beliefs for the prevention of the generation of domestic waste, preparation for reuse and / or separation collection and subsequent recycling. The broad information campaign will promote successful approaches, techniques and methods in the field of domestic waste management and raise public awareness for compliance with the three highest levels of the domestic waste management hierarchy, the behavior of households to prevent waste generation, reuse, and separate collection and recycling of old books.
