The project proposal envisages the purchase and installation of mobile municipal waste collection centers. The mobile nature of separate waste collection centers allows their location at different locations in residential complexes. This ensures accessibility for the population as well as facilitates citizens to transfer household waste that can be recycled and reused. As a result of the implementation of the demonstration project, one of the operational goals of the The waste management program in Blagoevgrad municipality will be achieved, by increasing the total volume of separate municipal waste collection vessels, will provide citizens with new opportunities for separate collection of municipal waste from packaging. The provision of mobile centers for separate collection of municipal waste through electronic the reporting of the waste delivered, combined with information and demonstration events, will encourage separate collection and increase the quantities of separately collected packaging waste in the municipality. The promotion project measures to promote the benefits of separate packaging waste collection will raise public awareness of compliance with the waste management hierarchy. Measures targeting children and students will also contribute to enhancing the benefits of separate waste collection. as well as among the citizens of the municipality, as the children directly influence the behavior of their families. At the same time, measures aimed at the Roma population will provide a good basis for their inclusion in the running separate information and demonstration campaigns for separate collection, organized by the Municipality of Blagoevgrad. As the Roma population is one of the major generators of municipal waste, it is especially important to lay the foundations of a separate waste collection culture for both inclusion of Roma children in the planned activities.
