Pilot project for development of municipal centre contributing waste reduction

The aim of the project is to contribute to the reduction of the amount of landfilled waste and consequently to an increase in the share of waste that is being prepared for re-use on the territory of the municipality of Mizia. The specific objective of the project is to support the achievement of the objectives set out in Art. 31, para. 1 of the Waste Management Act, with regard to municipal waste, namely to prevent the generation and preparation for reuse of household waste. The project is directly in line with the Specific Objective 1 of Priority Axis 2 "Waste" of OPE 2014-2020. The activities that will be implemented and which will achieve the set goals are related to the treatment only of municipal waste generated in the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria - Municipality of Mizia and concern: prevention of their generation and preparation for reuse of waste from households through implementation and demonstration of good practice. The project also envisages the implementation of activities that will raise the awareness and commitment of citizens to comply with the municipal waste management hierarchy.
