Demonstration project for reduction the amount of deposited waste through preparation for reuse

The purpose of this project proposal is to reduce the amount of municipal waste disposed of by the municipality of Cherven bryag by providing prevention and preparation for the reuse of household waste. The project envisages the implementation of activities for the construction of a demonstration site - a place for receiving, repairing when necessary and handing over new use of belongings and materials by the residents of the municipality. The capacity of the site is determined on the basis of a prepared analysis of the morphological composition of municipal waste generated on the territory of Cherven Bryag municipality and on the basis of the forecasts for generated waste (with a detailed mass balance). This project proposal takes into account the attitudes of the population of Cherven bryag municipality towards the separate collection of municipal waste, as well as the level of awareness of the population to prevent the generation of municipal waste, to the preparation for re-use and to the separate collection of municipal waste with subsequent recycling. As a result, implementation will reduce the environmental impact of waste generated, improve resource efficiency and stimulate waste management investments.
