Establishment of a system for composting on-site biodegradable waste on the territory of Vetrino municipality

This project proposal will be implemented on the territory of all settlements in the municipality of Vetrino. Installation of composters in 248 units is envisaged. households and 26 pcs. in public places located in the following settlements: - Belogradets village - 55 pcs. in households and 5 pcs. in public places; - Vetrino village - 53 pcs. in households and 5 pcs. in public places; - Gabarnitsa village - 1 pc. in public places; - Dobroplodno village - 51 pcs. in households and 5 pcs. in public places; - Young Guard village - 29 pcs. in households and 2 pcs. in public places; - Momchilovo village - 11 pcs. in households and 1 pc. in public places; - Nevsha village - 36 pcs. in households and 2 pcs. in public places; - the village of Neofit Rilski - 3 pcs. in households and 3 pcs. in public places; - Sredno selo village - 10 pcs. in households and 1 pc. in public places; - Yagnilo village - 1 pc. in public places; The implementation of the demonstration project will lead to a significant contribution to the fulfillment of one of the objectives under Art. the main objective of limiting the amount of biodegradable municipal waste deposited, which will contribute to: the transition to a circular economy in Bulgaria; building a zero-waste society and raising public awareness for adhering to the waste hierarchy; reducing environmental impact by preventing the generation of biodegradable municipal waste (BWW); reducing the amount of municipal waste for landfill, as well as preventing methane emissions from landfills, reducing greenhouse gases in accordance with the Third National Climate Change Plan by 2020.
