Project proposal for a grant under procedure BG16M1OP002-2.010 "Remediation of landfills for closure subject to an infringement procedure of EU law in Case C-145/14" under Operational Program "Environment 2014-2020" is a significant contribution to the fulfillment of the obligations of the Republic of Bulgaria under a procedure for infringement of EU law in connection with the judgment of the Court of Justice of the European Union of 16.07.2015 in case C-145/14. The project aimed at taking measures towards improving municipal waste management in accordance with the National Waste Management Program (2014-2020) and the Regional Waste Management Program of the Pazardzhik Region - 2016-2020. Sustainable municipal waste management will be achieved through investment in the performance of measures set out in the investment design for Closure and remediation of municipal waste landfill in the area of Velingrad town, Repovitsa locality, Velingrad Municipality. The project implementation will result in the closure and remediation of the landfill, after which the are can be used by the Municipality of Velingrad for other purposes.
