Closing down and recultivation of a Municipal landfill for non hazardous /domestical and constructional/ waste, located in PI 000373 in the territoru of Galabovo town.

The recultivation of the old landfill is in compliance with the specific geometric /land boundaries/,topographic,geological and hydrogeological conditions of the land, the minimum requirements of the MOEW-Council of Ministers Resolution 209 of August 20, 2009 Annex2 and Order 6 of August 27,2013 for the conditions and requirements for the construction and operation of landfills and other facilities and installations for the recovery and disposal of waste. The old waste will be collected in a common body within the property boundaries designated for recultivation and will be covered with an upper insulation layer,in accordance with the requirements of Council of Ministers Resolution 209. There are facilities for capturing and proper disposal of water from the landfill-clean surface. The main facilities have been identified as a minimum necessary for the proper recultivation of the landfill even after the exploitation monitoring. The main facilities and technical activities are: *Collection and compaction of waste accumulated inside and outside the landfill in order to reduce the area provided for recultivation and collection of waste in the landfill property *Demolition of an existing fence on the northern part of the landfill *Redrawing of existing waste with a slope of 1:2.5 for stability of the landfill body. *Construction of drainage ditches to prevent entry of surface (sloping) water into the body of the landfill •Laying a sealing layer of soil on slopes,berms and the ridge •Construction of 4 gas wells •Construction of 3 pcs. piezometric wells for groundwater *Establishment of a monitoring system in accordance with the requirements of Appendix 3 to 6 of 27.08.2013 to monitor -Groundwater level and composition -Separation of gas emissions from the waste body -Settlements on the surface of the landfill body
