The present project proposal envisages the implementation of activities for the closure and recultivation of two municipal landfills for non-hazardous waste located in the area "Raykov chukar" near the village of Zvezdets and "Vulkovo makulishte" near the village of Gramatikovo in the municipality of Malko Turnovo. The non-hazardous waste landfill in Raykov Chukar locality near Zvezdets was established in 1988 with a design capacity of 30,000 m3. With Order No. RD - 50 / 03.04.2015 of the director of RIEW Burgas the operation of the landfill was suspended, on the grounds that it did not meet the regulatory requirements for this type of facilities. The non-hazardous waste landfill in area "Vulkovo makulishte" locality near the village of Gramatikovo was established in 1988 with a design capacity of 30,000 m3. With Order No. RD - 51 / 03.04.2015 of the Director of RIEW Burgas the operation of the landfill was suspended, on the grounds that it did not meet the regulatory requirements for this type of facilities. Within the project, both municipal landfills will be closed, by implementing the technical reclamation of the contaminated areas, confirmed by a protocol from the Commission under the Rules for Implementation of the Agricultural Land Conservation Act for determining the size and boundaries of the terrain for recultivation and geodetic survey. After the completion of the technical reclamation the biological reclamation will be carried out with the funds of the municipality.
