“Reclamation of municipal landfill - Bobov dol city”

The project proposal is for the rehabilitation of the Bobov Dol municipal landfill, which is located on the territory of the town, Govedarnika locality. The property is owned by the Municipality of Bobov Dol with a permanent use - landfill. The municipal landfill is not constructed according to modern norms and environmental requirements. It is located in the territory of an old quarry in which coal was mined in the open. Its operation began in 1973. and the landfill site is reached by a dirt road. The waste is disposed of throughout the area of ​​the plot as well as outside it. The project proposal envisages the existing waste to be collected on the territory of the 15273sq.m landfill site, forming a stable body with air slopes, berms and soles, which will allow for the reclamation layers with a minimum thickness, ensuring the subsequent use of the property for pasture and measure.In order to stabilize the underwater slope of the landfill body, it is envisaged to build an embankment of rock material 0-500mm along the contour of the now existing waste body, which is the southeast boundary of the existing lake. For drainage and disposal of landfill biogas, gas drainage veins will be constructed, leading the biogas to a vertical gas well. Surface water from the site is captured and discharged from ditches along the berm to the lowest point of operational berm No. 0, and there they are discharged through the pipeline below the berm into the northwestern end of the site. Groundwater monitoring wells and geodetic benchmarks will be built to control sediment in the body of the waste. After the technical reclamation of the municipal landfill in Bobov Dol is completed, biological reclamation will be carried out in accordance with the provisions of Ordinance 26/1996. for the rehabilitation of disturbed terrains, the improvement of poorly cultivated land, the removal and recovery of the humus layer.
