The project proposal envisages implementation of technical reclamation of Box 3 of the municipal landfill for non-hazardous waste on the territory of Blagoevgrad Municipality. The site is located in a property owned by the Municipality of Blagoevgrad within the boundaries of the existing municipal landfill. It is located at the border of the Teketo locality in the territory of the village of Buchino and the locality Tsalinite in the territory of the village of Bulgarchevo, Blagoevgrad municipality. Box 3 disposes of years old municipal waste and pre-deposited municipal waste collected from boxes 1 and 2. The cell is depleted in volume and is recultivated. Box 3 is located in the southwestern part of the site. It is shaped as a dome-shaped earth-embankment facility with an average slope ratio. The slopes, berms and ridges of the cell with a total area of 21.80 acres or 21 800 square meters are subject to reclamation.
