Analysis and survey of species and natural habitats, subject of reporting under Art. 17 of the Habitats Directive and Art. 12 of the Birds Directive

The project is being developed to meet the commitments of the Republic of Bulgaria to report on the two nature conservation Directives of the European Union - the Habitats Directive (92/43/EEC) and the Birds Directive (2009/147/EC). The project is based on the approved OPE 2014-2020, which includes measures according to the Priority Action Framework (PAF) for Natura 2000 in Bulgaria, and on the coherent policy of the program concerning funding of biodiversity conservation. Under the Habitats Directive, every six years Member States draw up a report with information on the implementation of the conservation measures, taken under this Directive and evaluation of the impact of those measures on the conservation status of the natural habitat types of Annex I and the species in Annex II, as well as the main results of the surveillance referred to in Article 11. Bulgaria reports under both Directives for the first time in 2013, the next reporting is in 2019. The expected results of the implementation of the project activities are collected data on species and habitats for the reporting purposes in 2019 under Art. 17 of the Habitats Directive and Art. 12 of the Birds Directive and completing the reporting formats on both directives. Based on the data obtained, will be possible the planning of measures necessary to maintain or restore the favorable conservation status of species and habitats, subject of conservation under both Directives in the coming years. The main project activities will be carried out on the territory of Bulgaria, without marine spaces.
