“Improving the conservation status of Natura 2000 species and habitats in the territory of Nature park "Zlatni pyasatsi"“

The project will be realized on the territory of Nature park Zlatni pyasatsi, located in the Varna , Aksakovo and Balchik Municipality. Nature park is a forest territory – public state property, protected area according to the National Protected Areas Act and also Natura 2000 site. The territory of Nature park falls within the boundaries of following Natura 2000 sites: Natura 2000 site BG0002082 “Batova” and Natura 2000 site BG0000118 “Zlatni pyasatsi”. The project aims activities for improving the conservation status of species and natural habitats that are subject of protection of the Natura 2000 site BG0000118 Zlatni pyasatsi - Himantoglossum caprinum and Myotis bechsteinii and natural habitats 91F0 Riparian mixed forest of Quercus robur, Ulmus laevis and Ulmus minor, Fraxinus excelsior or Fraxinus angustifolia along the great rivers (Ulmenion minoris), 91G0* Pannonic woods with Quercus petraea and Carpinus betulus, 3150 Natural eutrophic lakes with Magnopotamion or Hydrocharition-type vegetation and 3140 Hard oligo-mesotrophic waters with benthic vegetation of Chara spp.Improvement of the status of priority bird species subject of protection in the Natura 2000 site BG0002082 "Batova". The activities like cleaning, mowing and the study of physical and chemical indicators of water will be implemented within 5 years of the project. The construction of fence, decorative wooden bridge, barriers and information boards about the species will be implemented once during the project. To increase the awareness of nature park visitors about the role of the EU in improving the conservation status of species and habitats in the Natura 2000 network the elaboration of information materials are foreseen in the project.
