Improving the conservation status of natural habitats 91E0 * Alluvial forests with Alnus glutinosa and Fraxinus excelsior kept in managed reserve "Ibisha" falling within Natura 2000 site BG0000199 "Tsibar"

Project proposal includes accomplishments of activities that will lead to resurrection of the favorable environmentally friendly condition of the nature habitat 91E0* Alluvial forests with Alnus glutinosa and Fraxinus excelsior. The activities will be carried out on the territory of the Natura 2000 site BG0000199 "Tsibar" within the territory of "Ibisha" managed reserve - Tsiber Island located in Montana district and are connected with preliminary and terrain researches with the purpose of localizing the invasive/introduced species with GPS coordinates and in choosing the methods of removal of the invasive/introduced species, when considering with the subject of guarding in Natura 2000 site BG0002007 “Ibisha Island “ for preservation of the wild birds. There will be prepared technological plans for afforestation of the areas with established invasive/introduced species. There will be defined the year/season of afforestation, the method of planting, the essence of the species; specific requirements: the kind of the planting material, place and others. Based on the committed studies will be taken cleaning action, taking out the saplings, shaping their root system, spread them to their planting places and plant them with the chosen method. The accomplished afforestation will be accepted according to the regulation and will be prepared protocol for accepting the actions, place of temporary storage, density and the number per a piece of unit area and others. There will be defined the actions for growing the created wooded areas from the first to the third year, including: getting rid of unwanted species, of weak and dried saplings, digging , planting (adding)new saplings, when that is needed and others. The actions will be accomplished as per the peculiarities of the terrain and the climate changes (flood periodicity) and etc.
