Implementation of measures for the restoration and conservation of the natural habitat 91F0 River mixed forests in the protected teritory "Baltata"

The project proposal is aimed at the implementation of measures for the restoration and conservation of the 91F0 in the Baltata protected area. It brings together two main groups of activities: Activity 1.Analysis of the natural habitat status 91F0 "River mixed forests of Quercus robur, Ulmus laevis and Fraxinus excelsior or Fraxinus angustifolia along large rivers (Ulmenion minoris)" in the "Baltata" PR, which includes the following two sub-activities .Determination of the percentage of natural habitat 91F0 in the process of drying and identification of the reasons leading to this process and analysis of the available quantity of deadwood within the boundaries of the 91F0 natural habitat, as well as determination of a percentage of the total stock.Action 2 is aimed at identifying and implementing conservation measures for the 91F0 habitat in a favorable conservation status.The activity is key to the project proposal and involves the physical and chemical analysis of surface and groundwater in the Balata IP (sub-activity 2.1) and the analysis of the water quantities that are necessary for the Balata IP sufficient for the normal development and humidification of the dense forest during the different climatic periods (sub-activity 2.2), as well as the implementation of hydro-technical measures for improvement and regulation of incoming water quantities in the Baltata IP (sub-activity 2.3) and measures to combat asbestos as defined in the report on a contract for "Investigation on the Territory of the Balata" for the purpose of taking action in relation to an established causative agent "asphalt pitcher", in pursuance of the 2017 Activity Plan of RIEW-Varna (sub-activity 2.4).The obligatory activities related to information and publicity of the project will also be implemented.The management of the project will be mixed - participation of representatives of RIEW Varna and external persons to provide additional expertise for the successful implementation of the project.
