The main objective of the project “Improving the conservation status of three species of bats on the territory of LAG "Stambolovo -Kardzhali 54" is to improve the conservation status of species with unfavorable - unsatisfactory status. The specific objectives of the project are: - To improve the the conservation status of three species of bats on the territory of LAG "Stambolovo -Kardzhali 54" by conducting research and implementing conservation measures; -To raise awareness and motivation of the community for the conservation of biodiversity, including bats, by conducting information activities. The project aims to investigate and improve the condition of three bat species, namely Rhinolophusmehelyi , Barbastellabarbastellus and Myotisbechsteinii. The main activities of the project are related to conducting surveys on the distribution and abundance of species in breeding colonies and wintering sites, mapping the habitats of the target species and conducting nature conservation activities - lodging of houses, as well as the marking and storage of biotope trees providing shelter for species Rhinolophusmehelyi , Barbastellabarbastellus and Myotisbechsteinii. The project also includes information activities and stakeholder involvement - information meetings, an educational campaign among students and the involvement of volunteers to participate in research. As a result of the implementation of the project up-to-date information on the status of the target species will be collected and analyzed and conditions for their conservation will be created. It will also increase the community awareness and motivation regarding the conservation of bats as part of biodiversity.
