Preparation of national Action plan for the Compton tortoiseshell (Nymphalis vaualbum) for the period 2019 - 2028.

The project proposal provides the preparation of a national Action plan for the lepidopterid species Compton tortoiseshell, or False comma (Nymphalis vaualbum) for the period 2019 - 2028. The current taxonomic nomenclature includes the genus and species name Nymphalis l-album. In Annex II to Directive 92/43 / EEC it appears as Nymphalis vaualbum. In the present project, the species is referred to as Nymphalis vaualbum and / or Nymphalis l-album, as the two synonyms are considered to be completely equivalent, and the report from the last mapping for the species has a genus and species name Nymphalis l-album.The implementation of the project will include preparationof a specification for the Action plan development, feild survey and an analysis of the gathered and available information to determine restoration, maintenance and conservation measures for the target species of Compton tortoiseshell from the Natura 2000 network in Bulgaria for a period of 10 years. The Action plan will be developed taking into consideration all of the requirements of the National and EU legislation. The Action plan for the target species of Compton tortoiseshell will benefit to the conservation of the species and its habitats and support the conservation of the Natura 2000 sites.
