Shared vision for conservation of habitats of semi-natural dry grass and shrub communities on limestone in the region of Kardzhali

The activities envisaged in the project proposal are scheduled on the basis of an analysis of the opportunities and specifics provided by NATURA 2000 in the region of Kardzhali, Kirkovo Municipality. The project proposal envisages the organization and implementation of a large-scale information campaign among stakeholders for the protection of habitats of semi-natural dry grass and shrub communities on limestone in the Kardzhali region, in particular in the area of protected area BG0001032 and habitats 6210. The campaign aims to inform the population about the contribution, opportunities and specifics provided by the NATURA 2000 network in the region and in particular to implement information measures to teach the population to protect the most common plants in the habitats of semi-natural dry grass and shrub communities on limestone, namely orchids. The main efforts and activities of the project will be aimed at informing the population about the protection of orchids during grazing of farm animals in the region which is carried out by the population in fragments and threatens the destruction of valuable plant species in protected areas. Part of the information campaign will be the photo contest planned under the project on "Pastures and orchids in collaboration for beauty protection". The competition will be with a regional focus and will give preference to participants who send photos from the Kardzhali region, when developing the rules for its implementation, a condition will be set for the photos to be from the area of protected area BG0001032 and habitats 6210. The project will provide a management team and will prepare and conduct mandatory activities related to the provision of information and communication, will be prepared and information materials - posters and photo cubes.
