Shared vision on ecological network "Natura 2000" in Smolyan region

The project proposal aims to promote measures and activities for conservation of important habitats for orchids, namely Habitat 6210 "Semi-natural dry grass and shrub communities on limestone (Festuco brometalia)", in the Smolyan region. It is planned to conduct a regional informational campaign, consisting of 2 public events on the territory of Smolyan district. The first event will be held in the town of Smolyan, and the second event will be a training on a terrain in Habitat 6210 "Semi-natural dry grass and shrub communities on limestone (Festuco brometalia)". Various forms of information will be selected, part of the Regional Information Campaign – trainings on a terrain in Natura 2000 sites, informational events and meetings, etc. A wide range of communicators will be used - media, experts, stakeholders. The specific features of the protected areas, the species of orchids Dichantium ischaemum, Chrysopogon gryllus, Stipa spp., Festuca valesiaca, Poa angustifolia and their habitats will be presented, and various approaches for impact and conservation of the different species that the local population can apply will be presented.
