"Prevention and management of the risk of landslides in the municipality of Oryahovo with the following objects: 1. landslide VRC31.54386.04 in the village of Ostrov; 2. landslide VRC31.54020.02.05; 3. landslide with reg.№ VRC31.54020.02.24"

In connection with the National Programme for Prevention and Mitigation of Landslides on the Territory of the Republic of Bulgaria,on the grounds of the preliminary engineering-geological surveys,the Municipality of Oryahovo has envisaged to implement a geo-protection measures in registered landslide areas within the Oryahovo municipality, in order to limit landslide processes and protect the municipality population’s life and health.For site 1-landslide VRC31.54386.04 in the village of Ostrov:The landslide is located in Quarter 71 under the Regulation Plan of the village of Ostrov.It is manifested on the right slope of a deep ravine passing through the central part of the village,covering a section between the road lane of Iskar Str.and the watercourse of the ravine. Strengthening of the area of the active landslide circus will be carried out and the landscaping of Iskar Str.will be restored in order not to allow surface water to enter the landslide body.The street will be strengthened by the implement.of a pile-anchoring system.Drainage-counterforce ribs will be implemented for the drainage of the site.For site 2-landslide VRC31.54020.02.05: The landslide is developed to the north of the Lale Str. and to the east of G. Dimitrov Str.The deformation is developed in the right valley slope of the Danube River.Cleaning and repair of the drainage ditch will be carried out along the fairway of the Bolnichno Dere.The drainage ditch will be further constructed in the lower part of the fairway of the Bolnichno Dere.Drainage facilities will be built.For site 3-landslide reg.№ VRC31.54020.02.24:The landslide is manifested in the batter of the main landslide retreat of the ancient landslide that affected the middle and the lower part of the right valley slope of the Danube River.The landslide circus is situated above the Central gully of Oryahovo.A strengthening structure will be built at the base of the landslide circus by means of a pile-anchoring structure.
