Integration, upgrading and optimization of the processes of prevention, preparedness and response of natural risks

The project aims at optimising prevention, preparedness and response at risk of natural disasters (floods, landslides, incl. disasters), as well as carrying out adequate analyses and assessments of the different types of risk. Research and identification of existing local information systems is foreseen. On the base of the conducted research will be built a common information system (platform) integrating the existing local systems, compatible with the NSWMRT and with the possibility of further integration with the European System for public disclosure. A proposal for a national Disaster risk management plan based on a risk assessment, which will take into account the likely impacts of climate change and the existing strategy to adapt to its changes, is foreseen. This will be done by systematization and unification of the information about past disasters. On the other hand, a concept with recommendations to develop and implement a new interinstitutional approach to data collection, comparable and enabling risk assessment, will be developed. As a result of the implementation of the project and the planned activities for organizing trainings and events, as well as technical support of the operational teams, it will be increased the effectiveness of the competent authorities in the field of prevention, preparedness and response for natural disasters, based on an adequate risk assessment. The time to exchange information will be reduced for analyses and assessments of natural hazards, as well as response times. The process of reaction in cases of risk of imminent or already occurring disaster of natural character will be optimised. The aim is to improve coordination between the executive authorities in risk management in order to mitigate/eradicate the consequences of natural disasters.
