Development of a Complex Programme on Ambient Air Quality of municipality Pleven

Pleven is one of the cities in Bulgaria with excessive ambient air pollution. In this regard, municipality Pleven implements an updated Programme for reduction of pollutant levels in the ambient air and reaching the established standards for harmful substances with an Action Plan for the period until the end of the next year. As an eligible beneficiary under the above mentioned procedure within the framework of OPE 2014-2020, municipality Pleven has developed the current project proposal. The project proposal envisages the development of an Ambient Air Quality Complex Programme for the period of Municipality Pleven. The aim of the programme development is to identify the most appropriate measures to achieve air quality in compliance with the regulatory requirements and as an strategic goal - to ensure the protection of the health of the population and of the environment. Target group of the project proposal is the population on the territory of Municipality Pleven. The project includes the following main activities: - Preparation of a project proposal; - Preparation of tender documents for a public procurements procedures; - Development of the Ambient Air Quality Programme of Municipality Pleven; - Implementation of information and communication measures; - Organization and management of the project. The main result of the implementation of the project is a developed Complex Programme on Ambient Air Quality of Municipality Pleven. The total duration of the project is twenty three months. The duration of the physical implementation of the project activities is eighteen months. The following horizontal principles will be applied over the course of implementation of the activities – legality, partnership, transparency and publicity, equal opportunities and prevention of discrimination.
