Environmentally friendly transport for Varna

The implementation of the project proposal will contribute to the improvement of the ambient air quality in Varna Municipality by reducing the excess levels of fine particulates and nitrogen oxides to achieve the established norms in the ambient air by taking measures to replace the old public urban transport vehicles with modern, eco-friendly vehicles. The project includes delivery of 40 electric bus type "solo", 20 electric "articulated" bus and delivery and installation of 60 slow charging stations and 2 fast charging stations. The following main activities are included in the project in order to ensure the normal operation of the vehicles and the sustainability of the project: - Design, execution of construction works and copyright supervision necessary for the supply of charging stations at bus depots and points for fast charging of electric buses; - Construction supervision and assessment of conformity of the envisaged design and construction works required for the supply of charging stations at bus depots and points for fast charging of electric buses; - Optimizing the operation of newly acquired vehicles; - Project management, measures of information and communication and development of procurement documents. The project proposal covers the implementation of activities under Component 1: Implementation of activities for improving the quality of the ambient air through the purchase and delivery of electric vehicles for road transport - electric buses and trolleybuses from the procedure. The project will be implemented on the territory of Varna Municipality, and the purchased electric buses will be operated by "Urban transport" Varna Single-stock company and will serve lines according to the approved city transport scheme. Within the intended scope, the present project will contribute to the achievement of the Specific objective "Reduction of atmospheric air pollution by reducing the amounts of PM10 / NOx" under Priority Axis 5 of OPE 2014-2020.
