Improvement of the air quality in Haskovo town, through the delivery and operation of electric buses for public transport

With this project proposal, the Haskovo Municipality in partnership with Trolleybus Transport Ltd. undertakes measures to improve the quality of the ambient air by reducing the emissions of fine dust particles and NOx, reducing noise and vibration and generally improving the quality of public transport services. The implementation of the project will increase the attractiveness of public service, so that the residents and visitors of the city will prefer to use it instead of their own private car. Electrification of public transport will improve the atmospheric conditions in the central part of Haskovo and will reduce the anthropogenic impact on the environment. The following main activities are envisaged for the implementation of the project and the achievement of its objectives: - Delivery of 5 electric buses serving lines №1 and №4, according to the approved transport scheme of the city; - Delivery of 5 slow charging stations and 1 fast charging station for trolleybus depot; - Design and construction of power cable for power supply to charging stations; The project proposal includes the following other activities necessary for the quality and timely implementation of the project: - Formation of project management team; - Conducting assessment of the conformity of the investment project and performing construction supervision. - Taking of information and communication measures to clarify the benefits of the project and the contribution of the EU. The project will contribute to the implementation of the goals and measures set out in the Emission Reduction Program and the achievement of the established norms for harmful substances in the ambient air on the territory of Haskovo Municipality.
