Development of strategic documents for programing period 2021-2027

Through the adoption of the Decree of the Council of Ministers (CM) No 142 of 7 June 2019 is set down the order for development of the strategic and programming documents of Republic of Bulgaria for the management of European Union Funds for programming period 2021 – 2027. With Decision of the Council No196 of 11 April 2019, the Ministry of Environment and Water was designated as the leading authority for developing a programme in the environment sector for the period 2021-2027. As the managing authority of Operational programme "Environment 2014-2020" (OP ENV 2014-2020), DG "Operational Programme Environment" is responsible for successful implementation of the country's priorities in environment sector, which should be financed under the next Multi-annual financial framework for the period 2021-2027. The development of this programme shall be based on the provisions of the draft regulations for the funds covered by the common strategic framework. The current budget line envisages the development of strategic documents that will be used for the prioritization of measures in the sectoral policies in the environment which should be financed under the operational programme "Environment 2021-2027 ". The programming of the future period is associated both to the strategic priorities at Community and national level and to the level of implementation of the priorities of the current programming period. The forthcoming programming will take place on the basis of various analyses, studies and evaluations needed to prioritize measures in environmental sectoral policies. During implementation of the budget line will be prepared analyses, evaluations, reports, strategies, etc., documents aiming at the process of development and approval of the next operational programme for the period 2021-2027 in the environmental sector.
