Development of the culture infrastructure in Sofia Municipality through investments in renovation of Municipal cultural institute Sredetz, Oborishte district

The current project is prepared and planned in implementation of Integrated plan for urban renovation and development (IPURD) of Sofia, aiming the improving of quality of life, social integration, renovation and protection of cultural and nature sights. This should lead to sustainable and balanced development and modernization of technical infrastructure and urban environment. In long-term scale the implementation of IPURD will support development of vision of the city, which defines Sofia as city of people and for people, smart city, authentic and viral, green and attractive city in 2020 perspective. In the frames of the project a complex of activities for reconstruction, renovation delivery and setting of modern technological equipment for Municipal cultural institute Sredetz is designed aiming the development the cultural infrastructure and improvement of the access to cultural life. The Investment program is based on the real needs for renovation and development of the city based on profound territorial and demographic analyses of the opportunities and challenges, as well as based on the Strategy for urban development of the core city and its peripheries. It is a realistic instrument, based on the current capacity and financial resources. The current project supports achievement of maximum integration of the interventions on the city's territory for its renovation and development of the identified impact zones. Development of the cultural infrastructure in the context of the current project is important strategic goal for the development of each city. The need of contemporary, modern, responding of the dynamically increasing requirements of the cultural infrastructure users is well-known for the city.
